RACAM Security & Communications

RACAM Security & Communications is a CCTV and alarm installation company based in Glasgow. It was founded in 1998 by Brian Maguire and Joe Armstrong. Following Joe Armstrong's retirement in 2026, the business is run by Brian Maguire and his son Calum. RACAM is NSI accredited and holds accreditations including NSI, Constructionline, SafeContractor and Cyber Essentials. With over 20 years of experience supplying and installing security systems, the company has 28 years in the industry and over 200 years of combined team experience.

Around 70% of staff have been with the company for over a decade, and its first customer from 1998 remains with the company. RACAM serves businesses across Scotland and the North of England, with clients including offices, retail spaces, industrial facilities, healthcare providers and high-security environments. Its engineers are fully trained and suitably qualified. RACAM provides supply, installation and maintenance of electronic fire, security and communication systems, and specialises in IP CCTV installations viewable via smartphone app.

Glasgow homeowners and businesses appear among the customers describing work carried out by this team. Several accounts focus on the advice given before any installation, with options explained clearly and a full written quotation arriving the same day, sometimes followed by a request to tweak the specification shortly before fitting that was accommodated without difficulty. Punctuality recurs, as engineers are said to arrive on schedule and to work to tight timescales, including one urgent job completed without fuss. Reviewers describe installations finished quickly and professionally, with the home left clean and tidy once the work was done.

Named members of staff, among them Andrea, Rachel and Calum, are praised for being knowledgeable, approachable and responsive from the first enquiry through to aftercare. The jobs recounted include replacing a CCTV system at commercial premises, fitting an alarm at a house and supplying a five megapixel camera set covering a property exterior and cars, alongside burglar and fire alarm equipment. A point made more than once is that the team stayed until everything was finished to the customer's satisfaction, and that the pricing quoted was considered fair for the work involved.
