What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Elite Security Group provides door supervision and security services around Swindon, and accounts from members of the public describe violent confrontations with personnel working at venues. Allegations of physical assault recur, together with homophobic remarks directed at people on a night out, and one account states that a phone was smashed during an incident. The safety of the public is a concern raised repeatedly, with the accounts suggesting that guards instigated conflict rather than maintaining order.

One confrontation is described as having escalated unexpectedly, with door staff said to have started the trouble instead of calming it, and the possibility of legal action is mentioned as a consequence of an alleged attack. The harm caused to those involved features throughout, as does advice to avoid the firm altogether. Reviewers describe a failure to protect the public and a lack of restraint from guards on duty, a pattern that runs through the feedback. The recurring theme is aggressive behaviour from door staff, and the accounts leave those who dealt with the company questioning how safety in public spaces is managed.

Last weekend at The Sir Daniel Arms, aggressive behavior, physical assault, and homophobic remarks from the door staff, this now raising serious questions about the responsibility of door staff in ensuring safety in public spaces. On the night (last Saturday 18/10/2025) at The Sir Daniel Arms, a young man became the center of a confrontation that escalated unexpectedly. Door staff are meant to maintain order, instead instigated a conflict. The young man was assaulted, suffering visible injuries, including a neck cut that required attention. This young man was removed from the bar for entering the female restrooms. While his action was indeed inappropriate, the conduct of the door staff was unacceptable and unnecessary. This alarming episode is a clear deviation from the expected conduct of door staff, who should prioritize the safety of patrons. Organizations like the Security Industry Authority emphasize that door staff must be trained to maintain standards of conduct, but this incident suggests a significant gap in training and oversight. Door staff play a crucial role as the first line of defense in nightlife venues. Their duties often include checking IDs, handling crowd control, and diffusing tense situations. However, the incident at The Sir Daniel Arms raises concerns about a potential trend of overstepping boundaries by some staff members. No where in there training does it say they are allowed to make the first contact, draw blood or use Homophobic abuse. The young man not only faced physical assault but also endured homophobic abuse from the door staff. Such behavior exacerbates an already serious problem, showcasing a broader issue of discrimination within society. Adding to the outrage, the head doorman laughed at the incident, further trivializing the violence and discrimination displayed. This reaction reveals an unsettling lack of empathy and professionalism that calls for immediate attention.
