City Security (Plymouth)

City Security Ltd was founded in Plymouth in 2007 and has delivered security services in the South West since then. The company specialises in door supervisors, manned guarding, event security, mobile patrols, and alarm response. It provides security services to corporate and independent clients across the Westcountry. Clients include hospitals, universities, football grounds, bars, hotels, and restaurants. City Security is SIA qualified. Its security services cover Devon and Cornwall. The company also offers security training.

Plymouth-based City Security operates as a security service and security guard service, and the accounts left by customers describe a company whose guards are frequently praised for their professionalism and their ability to handle difficult situations calmly. Several reviewers highlight the friendly but firm manner of the personnel, noting that unruly behaviour is dealt with properly and without escalation, while others express full confidence in the firm for venue security at licensed premises. The same professionalism is described at larger events, where guards are said to be capable and attentive.

Recurring complaints, by contrast, centre on organisation and communication: some customers describe a lack of coordination on site, difficulty getting a response after repeated calls and messages, and poor handling of personal belongings that had been moved from a seat to a control centre. These accounts point to inconsistency between assignments rather than a single failing, with the better experiences involving staff who are approachable and quick to act. The company’s work spans security guarding for pubs, bars and events, and the strongest feedback relates to the conduct of individual guards on duty.
